HarryWho unleashes its Spring Summer 2012-13 collection

Spring Summer 2012 is a season of riotous hues at HarryWho, with a striking palette of spring garden-inspired brights in silk, georgette, jersey and denim.

Australian fashion icon and HarryWho designer – Harry Watt – instinctively understands how to best use shape, colour and fabric to accentuate curves and conceal figure flaws. Australian fashion icon, George Gross takes the best of iconic tailoring from the 30s through to the 60s adding his signature design twist to make them utterly fresh and modern.

It begins with bright silk and chiffon print coordinates and floatey dresses in chilli and saffron perfect for garden parties or attending a race meet. Shapes are strong and elegant with just the right touch of feminine detail for refined, sensual style. Mix and match with impeccably tailored jackets, pencil skirts, slim pants or form flattering dresses in block colours – chilli, eye-popping citrus, black or white – and you have the ideal outfit to take you from work to play.

Short sleeve belted dresses nod to 1940s glamour with cheeky folds at the hipline, ribbon trims, panel dresses recall the figure skimming lines of the 60s.

Jacquelyn Brooks

Jacquelyn Brooks is a Gainesville native, and she is a professionally accredited fashion designer who graduated from Florida State University.  

Her dreams of bringing high fashion to Gainesville came true in 2007 with the opening of her own design and tailoring business on University Avenue.  Her company, Jacquelyn Brooks Designs, works with women in the local community to design custom wedding gowns, formal attire and her expanding collegiate dress collection.

Mikho Resort

Mikho Resort is a line created by Miguel Blanco.  Blanco is gay and Venezuelan.  He lives in New York City.  This year’s collection is deeply inspired by beautiful beings… by people wanting to stand out to lure their admirers sexually.Specifically in alienated scenarios the sort of a luxurious poolside. Regardless of their environment, the individual at hand yearns to make an impression, for all we know this could be the occasion they’ve been waiting for, change their life… make them go from a boy toy to a trophy husband. Wearing a Mikho Resort garment will surely make them achieve their objective.

Whitley Denise

Whitley Denise is an online vintage retailer for a girl who has a flair for the daring!  Chase Brown founded the company in November 2010.  Whitley Denise participated in Gainesville Fashion Week 2011.  Whitley Denise has been featured as a boutique to watch in London’s iFashion publication and has participated in other regional fashion shows.

Southern Frock

During the summer of 2009 a true southern girl from eastern North Carolina took a chance on a new life in the low country and made a spontaneous move down to Charleston, South Carolina. Meredith College graduate, Emily Newnam (owner and designer) instantly fell in love with the historical city and the laid back lifestyle that surrounded it.

Drawing inspiration from the southern coastal way of life and the classic style of southern women, Emily created a line of knit sundresses. Within months of her wildest dreams, Southern Frock was born.After moving back to Raleigh, North Carolina to be closer to family and friends, she debuted the spring/summer 2010 collection of six dresses and one skirt to close girlfriends in April 2010 and by June began retailing in local boutiques.

Currently in their third season, Emily has partnered with her mother, Betsy, as they continue the vision of a laid back sundress collection. SOUTHERN fROCK is currently retailed in boutiques through out the east coast and Caribbean.

Zella Machado

In the late 90s the Santana’s moved from a small town in Brazilcalled Florianopolis to Miami, Florida in pursuit of betteropportunities. Inspired by her experience in retail fashion andentrepreneurial training from the University of Florida, Bruna Santana began designing an innovative collection of swimwear with hergrandmother, Zella Machado Santana, and formally founded ZellaMachadoSwimwear.

Mrs. Machado has worked in the fashion industry for over fortyyears. Determined to build a brand and continue her grandmother’slegacy Bruna began to assemble a unique, fashionable, and cutting edge swimsuit collection. Their Brazilian style couture is custom made to accommodate women of allshapes and sizes. Bruna and Zella find inspiration in beauty, elegance,vibrant colors, and iconic women such as Coco Chanel.

London Olympia

All eyes will be on the eagerly awaited new collections in Footwear and Accessories at Pure London this August.  Due to exhibitor demand, the Footwear section has grown in size and will offer a host of new and exciting sourcing areas for Spring/Summer 13.

The Footwear and Accessory halls are divided into four key sections – Design-Led and Trend-Led Footwear, Accessories and Premium Accessories.  The areas will bring together new niche labels and returning favourites, plus numerous international brands which are launching exclusively at Pure London. Amongst these are an array of French labels, including Mephisto, located in The French Footwear Pavilion.

Creating a buzz of excitement within fashion circles, celebrity favourite Jeffrey Campbell will be launching his latest collection of footwear at Pure London. His designs are already being worn by celebrities including Jessica Alba, Rihanna, Sarah Harding and Jessie J. For spring/summer the collection is inspired by 1960s romanticism, mixed up with the sharper edges of modernity – and includes hints of vinyl, crochet, spikes, metallic and wood.

Pure London brand Chinese Laundry has made the headlines recently after winning ‘Women’s Footwear Brand of the Year’ at the Drapers Footwear and Accessory Awards held last month. Producing strong, trend led designs, the brand caters for an eclectic range of customers.

Others not to be missed include the flirty rocker label L.A.M.B. designed by Gwen Stefani, and UK designer Rae Jones; which both are set to be top favourites at the show.  Combining individuality with the contemporary, Poetic Licence will return, whilst new brand Penny Loves Kenny will display their collection of edgy footwear which includes ankle boots, power pumps and colour-pop heels.

Buyers can browse the eccentric new footwear collection from Melissa and newcomer Peter Kaiser who will showcase a range of statement heels.  Other brands to watch include Rebeca Sanver, Lodi, Gade, and Nina New York.

Pure London’s Accessory gallery will offer over 120 brands, complimenting the womenswear offer on the ground floor of Kensington Olympia.  Premium Accessories will include the highly renowned Ally Capellino handbags, Danish brand Becksöndergaard with their gorgeous hand-printed scarves,Tatty Devine with their unusual laser-cut Perspex jewellery and other top brands including Lola Rose, Ruby & Ed, Sam Ubhi and Paul & Joe Sister.

Zandra Rhodes handbags will be re-launching this August and the ‘Queen of British Fashion’ will also reveal her highly original jewellery collaboration withAdele Marie.

The Dorset based milliner, Vivien Sheriff showcases a diverse range of hats and head pieces, a favourite brand of the Middleton sisters and a key accessory brand of the Premium section!

Making a debut is designer Sadie Fisher who will be launching her range of fun, colourful, leather handbags alongside newcomers Markberg, Milo & Saint andSara Design.

With the desire to bring novelty to the world of jewellery, and relying on a know-how in porcelain, two sisters, Nancy and Nadia Koch, bound by the same passion decided to create Nach Jewellery.  New to the show, the collection consists of eccentric rings, necklaces, bracelets and earrings: a distinctive collection of porcelain jewels with animal and vibrant designs.

Ethical brand Nat & Nin’s collection will include casual and elegant handbags and accessories while LeJu will offer contemporary jewellery design using sustainable components taken from nature.
